Now, with the heartbreaking news of its closure, we take a moment to reflect on the memories, history, and legacy of this beloved ride.

The Birth of an Icon
Opened in 1996, Megafobia was designed by Custom Coasters International and quickly gained a reputation as one of the finest wooden roller coasters in Europe.

The Ride Experience
What made Megafobia so special? Unlike modern steel coasters with their smooth inversions, Megafobia delivered an old-school thrill—raw, intense, and packed with airtime.
The wooden structure groaned as the trains raced through its dips and curves, offering a ride that felt different every time.
Whether it was the exhilarating first drop, the powerful lateral forces, or the pure nostalgia of a classic wooden coaster, Megafobia held a charm that was hard to match.

A Fan-Favorite Across Generations
For nearly three decades, Megafobia was the heart of Oakwood. Families, thrill-seekers, and coaster enthusiasts from across the UK made the pilgrimage to Pembrokeshire to experience its wild ride.
It was more than just a coaster—it was an experience, a rite of passage for many theme park lovers.
Thank You, Megafobia
As we say goodbye to Megafobia, we celebrate the memories it has given us. The screams of excitement, the rush of wind, the iconic wooden rattle—all of these will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege to ride it.
Thank you, Megafobia, for nearly 30 years of unforgettable thrills. You will be missed, but never forgotten.

Just a absolute joke that the owners didn’t give a monkeys about the place 🤬🤬🤬
Got an old wheel from this roller coaster 🎢
Why do people want to ride the rides from Oakwood, they are death traps
Keep it open
Oakwood had its day back in the nineties bye bye
I wonder where it will end up
Ian White nah seriously doubt it, lots of rollercoasters get sold on and given a new lick of paint and a rebrand. They just spent a lot refurbing it so definitely won’t be firewood lol

It’s now for sale on Facebook Marketplace!
Hopefully it gets relocated to one of their parks in France but I’ll probably never get to ride it now
Needed more all weather attractions.. especially in Pembrokeshire or covered rides
They have taken dreanch and taking bounce down too send they too there other parks or that’s the rumours going around as a local, I don’t think mega is aloud too be taken down tho as it has a listed status xxx
I don’t understand why they would put all that work into this coaster just to abandon it.
Steven Scott Ohlson tax avoidance lol
The sort of story you’d prefer said “Closes next month” instead of “Has now closed”.
