Parc Astérix has revealed a significant refurbishment of its legendary wooden roller coaster, Tonnerre 2 Zeus, as part of its ongoing investment in guest experience for the 2026 season.

According to the park’s official newsroom, 350 metres of track were renovated during the winter by renowned coaster specialists Rocky Mountain Construction.
This large-scale work is part of a broader multi-year improvement plan aimed at modernising one of Europe’s most famous wooden coasters.
Smoother, faster, more dynamic ride
The refurbishment focuses on enhancing ride quality rather than changing the layout. Guests can expect:
- Smoother descents and transitions
- More dynamic turns
- Improved comfort throughout the ride
- Updated lighting and visual effects
The goal is to blend the coaster’s classic wooden feel with modern ride engineering, building on its major 2022 transformation.
Reopening for the 2026 season
Visitors won’t have long to wait to experience the improvements. The revamped ride is set to reopen with the park’s 2026 season launch in early April, promising a faster, smoother and more immersive experience
For UK theme park fans planning a European trip, this update makes Parc Astérix an even stronger contender for 2026. With continuous investment in headline attractions like Tonnerre 2 Zeus, the park is clearly positioning itself among Europe’s top thrill destinations.
