UK thrill-seekers know that B&M (Bolliger & Mabillard) coasters are some of the best-designed rides on Earth. From smooth inversions to flying sensations, these Swiss-engineered coasters offer world-class thrills—and the UK is lucky enough to have six of them.

But here’s the challenge:
Can you ride all six B&M coasters in one day, across three UK theme parks?
Let’s break down the plan, logistics, and whether this mission is actually achievable.
What Are the B&M Coasters in the UK?
As of 2025, there are six operating B&M coasters spread across three Merlin theme parks in England:
| Ride Name: | Type: | Location: |
|---|---|---|
| Nemesis Reborn | Inverted | Alton Towers |
| Galactica | Flying | Alton Towers |
| Oblivion | Dive | Alton Towers |
| Mandrill Mayhem | Shuttle Wing | Chessington World of Adventures |
| Nemesis Inferno | Inverted | Thorpe Park |
| The Swarm | Wing | Thorpe Park |
Each offers a completely unique ride experience—from soaring prone through the air on Galactica to the world’s first vertical drop on Oblivion.

Can It Be Done in One Day?
Technically? Yes.
Realistically? Only under ideal conditions.
You’d need to hit three separate parks—Alton Towers, Chessington, and Thorpe Park—in a tightly coordinated day with minimal delays, good traffic, and extended opening hours.
Sample Itinerary for Success
Start: Alton Towers Resort (Staffordshire)
- Coasters to ride: Nemesis Reborn, Galactica, Oblivion
- Park opens: 10:00am
- Target finish: 12:30pm
- Use: Fast Track, early ride access (if staying on-site)
Midday: Drive to Chessington (Surrey)
- Distance: 155 miles (3.5–4 hrs)
- Coaster to ride: Mandrill Mayhem
End: Thorpe Park (Chertsey, near Chessington)
- Distance from Chessington: 30 mins
- Coasters to ride: Nemesis Inferno, The Swarm
- Goal: Be in the park by 4:30–5:00pm
- Visit on: Summer nights or Fright Nights (for 8–10pm closing)

What Could Go Wrong?
- Traffic delays: M1, M25, and rural roads are unpredictable
- Ride breakdowns: One closure could end the challenge
- Short opening hours: Most UK parks close around 5–6pm outside of peak season
Tips for a Successful Attempt
- Stay overnight at Alton Towers for early entry
- Travel with a friend or driver to save energy
- Buy Fast Track for all three parks
- Plan your visit for late July, early August, or October events with extended hours
- Have a backup day in case of ride downtime

While it may be theoretically possible to ride all UK B&Ms in one day with perfect timing and minimal wait times, it’s essential to approach this adventure with realistic expectations.
Rushing through each ride could detract from the enjoyment that these world-class coasters offer. Therefore, while the challenge is enticing for thrill-seekers, taking your time to savour each experience might be a more rewarding approach than merely ticking off rides on a list.

Easily, I did similar in 2017. Did all the “twin rides”
Nemesis/Inferior
Saw/Smiler
Spinball/Dragons Fury
Rita/Stealth
10-5 opening hours, there and back before 10pm
Theme Park Worldwide done this few years ago and done all 4 Merlin parks and had to do one big ride from each park so can be done with just 3 parks to visit.
If the parks opened proper times it would be easy but they treat us like we are babies
If you’re the only one in the parks then yes, but with a 2+ hour queue at each coaster it’s unlikely
