Here’s everything you need to plan your theme park adventures in 2026.

Alton Towers – Reopens 14 March

One of the UK’s largest parks, Alton Towers Resort, kicks off its season on 14 March with a limited February half-term opening before the full launch. This year’s big highlight is the brand-new Bluey ride in CBeebies Land — the first themed rollercoaster based on the popular children’s TV show.

Bluey the Ride: Here Come the Grannies promises playful family fun tailored for younger visitors.

Thorpe Park – Reopens 27 March

Thrill-seekers won’t have to wait long — Thorpe Park Resort throws open its gates on 27 March. While the park hasn’t unveiled any new attractions yet, it remains a must-visit for adrenaline junkies with world-class coasters and thrill rides.

Legoland Windsor – Reopens 14 March

Legoland Windsor reopens for its February half-term (14–23 February) before returning fully on 14 March. In 2026 the park celebrates its 30th anniversary, with special events and themed activities planned all season long.

Chessington World of Adventures – Full Reopening 20 March

Chessington will once again welcome visitors from 20 March, with its zoo and SEA LIFE centre open year-round. This year’s standout addition is the new Paw Patrol-themed land, designed especially for preschool fans and packed with rides and immersive experiences.

Drayton Manor – Main Park Reopens 14 March

Drayton Manor’s attractions return to full action from 14 March, with soft play zones, train rides and zoo access open earlier in February. In 2026 the park will also host a special K-pop takeover during February half-term, adding live entertainment alongside classic rides.

Paultons Park – Full Daily Opening 25 March

The family favourite Paultons Park and Peppa Pig World welcomes guests daily from 25 March, after weekend-only openings from 7 February. In May 2026, the park introduces Valgard: Realm of the Vikings — a new themed zone featuring a Viking-inspired roller coaster and immersive experiences.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach Resort – Season Starts 7 March

One of the UK’s most iconic seaside theme parks, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is gearing up for a packed 2026 season. The park is set to open fully from 7 March with most dates available through to late November.

This year promises even more thrills, with the Aviktas ride — the UK’s tallest gyro swing — under construction and due to open during the 2026 season. The new attraction will swing riders up to 138 feet high in a 120-degree arc, creating a spectacular experience against the seaside skyline.

Blackpool Pleasure Beach will also open Nickelodeon Land throughout the February half-term (14–22 February), offering early-season fun for families and special low-price ticket options.

Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park – Reopens 28 March

Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park in North Yorkshire is returning for 2026 on 28 March, marking a fresh chapter under new ownership by the Mellors Group.

The park, known for its range of family-friendly rides and attractions tailored to younger visitors, is set for ambitious investment and new experiences throughout the season. While specific new rides for 2026 are yet to be revealed, the Mellors Group has stated plans to bring fresh energy and expanded attractions to the park.

Tips for Tickets & Savings

Many parks are offering discounted advance tickets — in some cases up to 50% cheaper than gate prices if booked online. Deals vary by park and season but planning ahead can help families save big on admission.

From brand-new children’s rides to returning classics and special anniversary celebrations, 2026 looks set to be a fantastic year for UK theme park fans. Keep an eye on individual park websites for the latest updates on ride launches, deals and seasonal events.
