Delivering Magic Behind the Scenes: OCS Partners with Merlin Entertainments to Elevate UK Attractions

OCS, a global leader in facilities management services, has announced a significant new five-year partnership with Merlin Entertainments aimed at transforming how some of the UK’s most beloved attractions operate behind the scenes.

Starting in December 2025, OCS will take the lead in delivering Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) across a portfolio of Merlin’s top-visited destinations — ensuring everything from maintenance and cleaning to security and landscaping is run efficiently, sustainably and safely.

What This Partnership Means

Under the new agreement, OCS will provide day-to-day support across 12 major UK attractions, including:

Instead of Merlin teams handling all facilities internally, many of those roles — including several existing Merlin employees — have now transitioned to OCS, bringing continuity and deep onsite knowledge together with OCS’s FM expertise.

Behind the Scenes of “Magic”

While guests enjoy the rides, shows and immersive worlds at these attractions, OCS will be hard at work ensuring the underlying infrastructure runs flawlessly. This includes:

  • Technical systems like heating, ventilation and lighting
  • Waste and pest management
  • Landscaping and grounds care
  • Cleaning and visitor-facing services
  • Security services

By putting core operations and hard services in OCS’s hands, Merlin can concentrate even more on its core mission: creating unforgettable experiences for families.

To support this vision, OCS is also rolling out OCS LIVE — a suite of real-time digital tools and dashboards that monitor performance across all attractions. This digital approach will help reduce downtime, increase responsiveness and deliver consistent service quality day in, day out.
