Theme parks are full of thrills — launches, drops, inversions, near-misses with lunch. But there’s one ride experience nobody talks about enough:
Checking the queue times on the app.
It’s fast. It’s unpredictable. It has emotional highs, crushing lows, and absolutely zero height restrictions.

15 minutes → Excitement
You open the app casually. No expectations. Just browsing.
Then you see it.
15 minutes.
Adrenaline. Possibility. Destiny.
You immediately start walking faster. Not running — you’re a responsible park guest — but definitely moving with purpose. You picture yourself boarding within minutes, smugly telling friends, “We timed this perfectly.”
You refresh once more just to admire it.
Fifteen beautiful minutes.
This is peak park happiness.
75 minutes → Denial
Halfway there, you check again.
75 minutes.
That can’t be right.
You refresh.
Still 75.
You close the app and reopen it like that might emotionally reset the number. You switch networks. Tilt your phone. Blink.
“It’ll go down.”
“The line always moves quicker than they say.”
“Maybe it’s just a temporary spike.”
You continue walking, powered not by logic but by commitment.
Turning back now would mean accepting reality — and we’re not ready for that.
Closed → Devastation
You arrive within sight of the entrance. Hope flickers. One last check.
Closed.
The emotional drop is immediate and severe.
You stare at the screen as if it personally wronged you. Around you, other guests perform the same ritual of disbelief. Someone sighs. Someone else mutters, “Typical.”
You linger for a moment — just in case it reopens.
It doesn’t.
You walk away slowly, already scanning the app for the next opportunity to have your feelings manipulated by numbers again.
Because this is the truth
The queue time app isn’t just a tool.
It’s a drama. A narrative. A full emotional storyline played out dozens of times a day.
And despite everything — the excitement, the denial, the devastation — you’ll keep checking.
Because one day…
It might say 15 minutes again.
