Drone flyer here! There are no flight restrictions over Thorpe Park. Anyone with a drone can fly here legally without any consequences, they just asking out of courtesy not to cause delays.
Hayley Lewis Agreed. I mean who would fly a drone near a testing site? Anything could happen but there again these people fly drones near air ports these days and wonder why they get shot down.
Dave Harley I don’t have, or want a drone, but I’ve seen some people doing “audits” on YouTube, whilst (probably) not breaking the law some of the things they do are utterly stupid!
Hayley Lewis Should need a license to operate these things as in the wrong hands they can cause chaos. Personally I don’t want one myself but I love some of the footage they get on lets say cross country racing when they are controlled by guys who know what they are doing.
Maybe just the chance to fly one over a safe area would suit my curiousity. 😃😃
Hayley Lewis sadder still, this country has become a place where prohibiting something, makes it more fun to do. All this request will do is increase the amount of drones flown in the area.
so someone did anyway lol
Frank Bond this is an old

How about don’t fly drones in the area all together. Heathrow has enough problems. 🤣😂🤦♂️
David Noon it’s not a FRZ
This will make people fly drones over it, which they are perfectly entitled to do seeing as there are no flight restrictions in the area
Ivan Dobsky there not saying it’s illegal they just politely asking not to in order for schedule to stay on track as it can cause delays.
Ivan Dobsky yes there is you need permission to fly drones over Thorpe park

Tyler Speirs no you don’t

Dan Rose check your facts. Its miles away from Heathrow’s FRZ

Dave Harley you do need a license over 250grams, but there are some small ones any loonie can fly. but you still have to register the drone.

Mark Watts I don’t think you’re wrong there sadly.
Frank Bond incorrect. Drones under 250grams still need to be registered if they have onboard camera.
Dave Harley you do
