Visitors with a Platinum Pass at Alton Towers Resort will soon have an additional way to start their day at the park. For the remainder of the 2026 season, Platinum Passholders will be able to enter the park via the Short Breaks entrance located near Galactica.

The special access point will begin operating this weekend, opening from 9:30am to eligible guests.

A New Convenience for Platinum Passholders

The entrance sits near the resort hotels area, close to the iconic flying coaster Galactica. Traditionally, this gate has been used mainly by guests staying at the resort hotels, but the change now gives top-tier passholders a more convenient entry option.

For many visitors, this entrance can mean:

  • Quicker access to rides in Forbidden Valley
  • Avoiding the busy main entrance queues
  • A shorter walk for those arriving early

Since the gate opens at 9:30am, Platinum Passholders can position themselves near some of the park’s most popular rides before the main crowds arrive.

Why This Could Improve the Morning Rush

Morning entry can often be one of the busiest times at Alton Towers Resort, particularly during weekends and school holidays. Allowing Platinum Passholders to use the Short Breaks entrance could help spread out guest flow across multiple entry points.

It also gives passholders a strategic advantage when planning their first rides of the day, particularly in the Forbidden Valley area, which has become one of the park’s biggest draws since the reopening of Nemesis Reborn.
