Soft Play, Trains & Zoo at Drayton Manor: A Perfect January Family Day Out

0

If you’re looking for a fun, flexible, and family-friendly day out this winter, Drayton Manor’s Soft Play, Trains & Zoo is the perfect choice.

Running on selected weekends in January — 24th-25th and 31st Jan-1st Feb (10am–3pm) — this special seasonal event offers unbeatable value and activities to keep little ones entertained, all from just £10 per person

What’s Included in the Event

This event blends indoor play, outdoor fun, wildlife encounters, and gentle transport adventure — ideal for toddlers and young kids:

Indoor Soft Play

Each booking includes a 45-minute session in Emily’s Indoor Soft Play — a bright and exciting play space packed with slides, climbing zones and adventurous fun, perfect for burning off energy no matter the weather.

Train Ride with Thomas & Friends

All aboard! Enjoy a scenic train journey through Drayton Manor with Thomas, Rosie & Percy on the Sodor Railway. This little ride is a highlight for Thomas & Friends fans and a great way to link the soft play to the zoo areas.

Explore the Zoo

Drayton Manor’s 15-acre Zoo is included in the experience. Children and families can meet wonderful animals — from curious red pandas and capybaras to the rare Andean bear — in a friendly, engaging wildlife setting.

Outdoor Adventure Play

Let imaginations run wild at Spencer’s Outdoor Adventure Play area — a sprawling outdoor play zone with tunnels, slides and bridges. It’s a great way to enjoy fresh air and let kids climb and explore.

Dino Trail

Add extra excitement with the Dino Trail, where families can discover life-sized dinosaurs and transform a simple walk into a prehistoric adventure.

Food & Refreshments

During your visit, refreshments are available right on site:

  • Coffee cart at Emily’s Adventure Play — perfect for warming drinks or snacks after playtime.
  • Mrs Kyndley’s Café in the Zoo — a great stop for a hot drink, treats or lunch while exploring the animals.

Why It’s Worth Visiting

Whether the weather’s chilly or crisp, Soft Play, Trains & Zoo offers a balanced mix of indoor and outdoor fun. It’s perfect for:

Toddlers and younger kids who need both play space and gentle immersive experiences
Families who want a structured day without the crowds of peak season
Anyone looking for great value at just around £10 per person

Plus, with activities ranging from train rides to wildlife encounters and interactive play, it’s ideal for a half-day adventure that can easily become a full-day memory for the whole family.

Booking ahead is essential, especially for the indoor soft play sessions, as capacity is limited and time slots must be selected when you reserve your place.
