Viking-Themed Land Coming to Paultons Park

Paultons Park is also preparing to launch a major expansion later this year.

The new themed area, Valgard: Realm of the Vikings, is expected to open in May 2026 and will introduce several new attractions including:

  • Drakon – the park’s first inversion rollercoaster

  • A fully themed Viking land and family attractions

With the 2026 season now underway, more parks will reopen and announce events over the coming weeks — making March one of the most exciting times of year for UK theme park fans.

Thorpe Park Preparing for 2026 Opening

While many parks have already started their seasons, Thorpe Park Resort is still preparing for its reopening.

The park is expected to welcome guests again on 27 March 2026, just in time for the Easter holidays.

However, there has already been a notable change ahead of the season. The long-running water ride Rumba Rapids has been permanently closed after nearly 40 years of operation.

The park has not yet announced what will replace the attraction.

Chessington Preparing Major Family Expansion

Another park gearing up for a big year is Chessington World of Adventures.

The park is preparing to open the world’s first PAW Patrol themed land in spring 2026, featuring four new rides and themed attractions designed for younger guests.

Chessington’s main season begins 20 March, meaning visitors this week will see final preparations underway across the park.
