As the sun sets over Alton Towers, the theme park says the atmosphere will shift dramatically, with illuminated pathways, dramatic ride lighting and extended opening hours creating a unique evening environment for visitors.
According to new promotional messaging from the resort, the event will once again centre on the thrill of night riding, inviting guests to “take thrill seeking to a new level” across a selection of headline rollercoasters and family attractions.
Among the experiences highlighted is Nemesis Reborn, where riders will venture into Forbidden Valley to face the iconic coaster beneath the cover of darkness. The attraction’s intense terrain-hugging layout and atmospheric lighting are expected to make it one of the event’s standout night rides.
Meanwhile, the wooden coaster Wicker Man is set to provide a fiery spectacle after sunset, with its signature flame effects illuminating the structure and surrounding area as trains race through the towering effigy.
Guests seeking a more nerve-racking experience will be able to take on Oblivion, where the famous vertical drop into the unknown becomes even more suspenseful in darkness. For families, Runaway Mine Train will offer a lighter but still atmospheric adventure through Katanga Canyon, as the classic coaster navigates its twists and turns at night.
Alton After Dark has grown in popularity in recent years, with enthusiasts praising the chance to experience headline attractions with shorter queues, cooler temperatures and dramatically different visual effects.
