After decades of thrilling riders and standing as a proud symbol of seaside adventure, The Scenic Railway has officially completed its journey as a roller coaster. The historic attraction will now retire from operation as a ride, marking the end of an era for the beloved Margate icon.
However, this is not the end — it is a new beginning.
The Scenic Railway is a Grade II listed structure and a treasured piece of British heritage. Rather than fading into history, it will be given a fresh purpose designed to preserve its legacy while allowing future generations to continue enjoying its presence in a new and meaningful way.
We are committed to developing a new long-term vision that will not only showcase this remarkable Grade II listed structure, but reimagine its purpose so it can continue to be enjoyed by future generations in a fresh and meaningful way

This summer, visitors can celebrate the history and heritage of The Scenic Railway at a special pop-up exhibition hosted on-site. The exhibit will showcase the ride’s legacy, featuring stories, photographs, and memories from generations of riders.

Get Paulton’s to run it, be up and working again in no time!
The Music company are not interested in running this ride. It was only rebuilt from ground up ten years ago so a relatively a new ride with very little maintanence needed. Five hours daily to inspect the ride. What utter rot. How can this ride be reinvented, either it’s a rollercoaster or not. What else can you do with it apart from a backdrop. Needs to be saved ASAP before Dreamland becomes a thing of the past. Shameful.

Maybe it’s time for the operators to ‘retire’ and let the guys from Southend or Southport take over!
We spent months and months getting that coaster working after the rebuild , spend hours sanding and planing wood, calibrating the safety equipment to make it safe , god knows what it cost to re build in the first place , finally after months of tinkering and adjusting we had it running pretty good , it was a fantastic ride , really good fun , what a bloody complete waste!!!!
