The proposed Universal Studios UK theme park promises to be a remarkable addition to the country’s attractions landscape.
Slated to open in 2031, this ambitious project is poised to become the United Kingdom’s premier visitor destination. Spanning an expansive 476-acre site in Bedfordshire, the park is envisioned as the largest of its kind in Europe.
Universal has formally initiated the planning process for this colossal undertaking. According to the planning documents submitted, the park could feature structures reaching an astounding height of 377 feet (115m), potentially incorporating rides of such staggering proportions.
Although the Universal Orlando Resort does not currently have attractions up to this height, taller attractions are more common in Europe, where rides need to be taller to create the experience, as space is more constrained.

Building attractions that are higher, rather than over greater areas, also makes the best use of land which is in line with planning policy.
If realized, these rides would surpass the current tallest ride in the UK, the £18 million Hyperia at Thorpe Park, by a remarkable 141ft, as Hyperia stands at a height of 236 ft.
As one of the most cutting-edge resorts in Europe, it is anticipated to boost the economy by £50 billion and create up to 28,000 jobs during development and operation.
