Planning a visit to Alton Towers Resort in 2026? It’s important to budget not just for park tickets, but also for car parking costs, as parking is not included with admission.
On-site parking is conveniently located on the resort grounds, but charges apply depending on what you choose and whether you have one of the Merlin Annual Passes.
Standard Parking (from £13)
Standard Parking for Theme Park guests costs £13 per vehicle when booked online in advance. When you arrive, simply follow the road signs or directions from the parking team to your allocated area. Both tarmac and grass car parks are used, and during busier peak periods you may be directed to park on grass.
Gold, Platinum and Premium Merlin Passholders, as well as guests staying in any of the Resort Accommodations, receive free Standard Parking and do not need to purchase a ticket.
If you’re visiting Extraordinary Golf, you can also qualify for free Standard Parking. After finishing your round, take your completed scorecard to the Golf Reception. A team member will validate your game and provide a complimentary Standard Parking ticket.
Please note that Standard Parking is approximately a 15–25 minute walk from the Theme Park entrance.
To save money, it’s recommended to book in advance, as parking purchased on the day costs £15 per vehicle.
Express Parking (from £25)
Express Parking is available for Theme Park guests from £25 per vehicle and must be pre-booked online in advance, as spaces are limited.
Gold, Platinum and Premium Merlin Passholders can secure Express Parking at a reduced rate from £15, but this must also be booked ahead of arrival.
Guests staying at the CBeebies Land Hotel benefit from free Express Parking. Simply show your booking confirmation on arrival or collect your complimentary parking pass from the hotel reception.
Express Parking is located just a 1–3 minute walk from the Theme Park entrance, making it the closest and most convenient parking option available.
Blue Badge & Accessibility Parking (from £13)
Blue Badge Parking is available from £13 per vehicle, which is the same rate as Standard Parking.
Guests who hold Gold, Platinum or Premium Merlin Passes, as well as those staying in any of the Resort Accommodations, receive free Blue Badge Parking, provided a valid Blue Badge is displayed and the badge holder is present in the vehicle.
A current and valid Blue Badge must be clearly shown, and the badge holder must be travelling in the vehicle. Vehicles without a valid badge, or where the badge holder is not present, will not be allowed to use the designated Blue Badge parking areas.
Please note that only one vehicle per Blue Badge is permitted to park in Blue Badge spaces. These spaces are limited and are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis, subject to availability.
EV Charging
In partnership with RAW Charging, Alton Towers Resort is pleased to offer EV Charging for day visitors and short break guests.
Where can I find the charging points and how many are there?
There are 26 charging points available to guests, which can be found in the following locations around the Resort:
- 10 EV chargers on Car Park 1
- 10 EV chargers at the Splash Landings Hotel
- 6 EV chargers at the Alton Towers Hotel
Overall, parking at Alton Towers Resort in 2026 remains an added cost that visitors should factor into their trip budget. Booking online in advance offers the best value, especially for Standard Parking, while Express Parking provides added convenience for a higher fee.
