There has been plenty of speculation surrounding Final Exhibit, the new scare maze reportedly coming to Alton Towers for the 2026 Scarefest season. While details remain unconfirmed, rumours are circulating that the experience could be located inside the park’s Corporate Hospitality Tent.
But, if we’re being honest, there is another location we would absolutely love to see used for Final Exhibit — The Towers themselves.
The Towers Would Be the Perfect Location
There is something about walking through the Towers at Alton Towers that already feels unsettling. The historic building has a unique atmosphere, with its winding corridors, dark rooms, old architecture and mysterious history.
Turn that environment into a scare maze and you could have something incredibly special.
Rather than building a completely new temporary maze, imagine Final Exhibit taking guests deep inside the Towers, with the experience designed around the existing rooms and corridors.
It could feel less like walking through a traditional scare maze and more like discovering something that was never supposed to be found.
Imagine Final Exhibit After Dark
Picture entering the Towers late in the evening.
The usual daytime atmosphere has disappeared. The corridors are dark, the lighting is minimal and strange sounds can be heard coming from rooms that are normally inaccessible to guests.
As you make your way through the building, actors could appear from hidden doorways, while the maze uses the Towers’ existing architecture to create unexpected scares.
The building itself could become part of the story.
That is something a temporary structure simply can’t replicate.

But What About the Corporate Hospitality Tent?
Of course, the rumours about Final Exhibit potentially being located inside the Corporate Hospitality Tent are interesting.
If true, it could still provide Alton Towers with a large, controlled space to create a detailed and elaborate scare experience.
There are also obvious practical advantages to using a temporary structure. It can be designed specifically for the maze, allowing the park to control lighting, sound, effects, access and capacity much more easily.
So, from a practical point of view, the tent could make perfect sense.
But from an enthusiast’s point of view?
The Towers would be hard to beat.
A Scare Maze Guests Would Remember
One of the biggest advantages of putting Final Exhibit inside the Towers would be its atmosphere.
The building already has a reputation for being mysterious, and Alton Towers has previously demonstrated how effectively it can use the Towers for immersive experiences.
Combining that existing atmosphere with modern scare effects could create something that feels completely different from the other Scarefest mazes.
It wouldn’t necessarily need huge sets or elaborate props.
Sometimes, the location itself can be the biggest scare.
Could It Happen?
At this stage, the location of Final Exhibit remains speculation, and the rumours surrounding the Corporate Hospitality Tent should be treated as just that — rumours.
We also don’t know whether Alton Towers would even be able to use the Towers for a large-scale scare maze. There could be operational, safety, accessibility or logistical reasons why a temporary structure would be the better option.
But that doesn’t stop us dreaming.
If Alton Towers really wanted to create a scare maze that enthusiasts would be talking about for years, Final Exhibit inside the Towers would certainly get our vote.
Imagine walking through the Towers after dark, knowing that something could be waiting around the next corner.
Now that sounds like a Final Exhibit we would love to experience.
