Plopsaland Belgium Launches New Season with Grand Opening Celebration

Plopsaland De Panne has officially kicked off its brand-new season with a lively Grand Opening event, marking the beginning of the grand finale of its 25th anniversary celebrations. With celebrities in attendance and a festive atmosphere throughout the park, the Belgian resort is setting the tone for what promises to be a standout year.

The opening ceremony wasn’t just about looking back—it also introduced a range of new experiences and teased major developments still to come. Park management described the event as the starting signal for another season focused on innovation, family entertainment, and memorable moments.

A New Daily Spectacle

A key highlight of the opening day was the debut of the brand-new Grand Finale Show. This 25-minute production brings together dancers, music, and well-known Studio 100 characters in an energetic performance designed to close each day on a high.

Rather than being a one-off event, the show will now run daily, giving every visitor the chance to end their visit with a vibrant and feel-good finale. It also reinforces Plopsaland’s growing focus on entertainment alongside attractions.

A Fresh Family Addition

The park has also introduced a new attraction in the Big & Betsy Zone: Rijschool Suikerbuik. This family-friendly driving experience replaces the former traffic park and fits neatly into the area’s farm-themed setting.

While it’s a modest addition on its own, it signals a wider transformation already underway. The surrounding space is being prepared for a much larger project that will significantly reshape this part of the park.

Major Investment on the Horizon

Looking ahead to 2027, Plopsaland is preparing to launch one of its most ambitious attractions yet: the Vliegende Cinema. This flying theatre experience will take guests on a virtual journey across Europe, guided by Maya the Bee, using a moving gondola system to create a fully immersive sensation.

The attraction will form part of Plopsaland Plaza, a brand-new central area designed to become the heart of the resort. With a reported investment of 25 million euros, this development highlights the park’s long-term vision of evolving into a more complete destination rather than just a day park.

Expanding Beyond the Park Gates

Plopsaland is also extending its experience beyond traditional rides and shows. From the Easter holidays, visitors will be able to enjoy the new Plopsaland Beach along De Panne’s coastline. With sun loungers and parasols available, it adds a relaxed seaside element to a visit.

Later in the summer, the park will further enhance its offering with the opening of Piratengrill, a new themed family restaurant set to debut in July. Together, these additions reflect a broader push to diversify what guests can do during their stay.

Building on 25 Years of Memories

As Plopsaland moves beyond its 25th anniversary, it’s clear the park isn’t slowing down. Instead, it is continuing to invest in new attractions, entertainment, and infrastructure that keep the experience fresh for returning visitors.

At its core, however, the park remains rooted in what has made it successful for over two decades—its connection to Studio 100 characters and its focus on family-friendly fun.

With a strong start to the season and major developments on the horizon, Plopsaland De Panne is not just celebrating its past—it’s actively shaping its future.
