Alton Towers Resort Monorail to Reopen After Start-of-Season Closure

Guests visiting Alton Towers Resort this weekend will be pleased to hear that the resort’s Monorail is set to reopen on Saturday 25th April, following a temporary closure at the start of the 2026 season.

The Monorail, which transports guests from the car parks to the main entrance plaza, has been unavailable since the park first opened for the season earlier this spring. The closure was put in place to allow for essential maintenance and system checks, ensuring the transport system is operating safely and efficiently for the busy months ahead.

While the resort provided alternative access routes—including walking pathways and shuttle options—the absence of the Monorail was noticeable, particularly during peak arrival times.

Reopening This Weekend

From Saturday 25th April, the Monorail is expected to resume full operation, helping to streamline guest entry into the park once again.

As always, availability is subject to operational conditions, so guests are advised to check the latest updates on the day of their visit.
