Cedar Point’s New “Morning Rush” Event: Is It Worth the Early Wake-Up?

For roller coaster fans planning a trip to Cedar Point in 2026, there’s a brand-new event on the calendar — and it’s already causing plenty of discussion across the theme park community.

Called Morning Rush, this limited-capacity experience gives guests early morning ride time on select coasters before the park officially opens. The first event is scheduled for June 5, 2026, running from 7:30am until 11:00am.

If you’re travelling from the UK or planning a Midwest coaster road trip, here’s everything you need to know before adding Morning Rush to your Cedar Point itinerary.

What Is Cedar Point Morning Rush?

Morning Rush is a new paid upcharge event introduced by Cedar Point for the 2026 season. It appears to replace the long-running enthusiast event CoasterMania, although the park has not officially framed it that way.

The event includes:

  • Early ride access before general guests enter the park
  • Access to select roller coasters
  • A commemorative T-shirt
  • A meal package
  • One single-use Fast Lane pass

According to early event information shared online, featured rides include:

  • Millennium Force
  • Siren’s Curse
  • Rougarou
  • Iron Dragon

For many visitors, the biggest draw is the opportunity to ride major attractions with significantly shorter queues during the first hours of the day.

Why Cedar Point Fans Are Talking About It

The reaction from coaster enthusiasts has been mixed.

On Reddit and social media, many fans criticised the event’s reported $95 price tag, especially compared to traditional enthusiast events that offered behind-the-scenes tours, presentations, or extended exclusive ride time.

Some commenters argued the package may still provide decent value for first-time visitors who do not already have dining plans or Fast Lane access. Others felt the included ride lineup was too limited for the price.

For international visitors, however, Morning Rush could still be appealing — especially if you only have one or two days at the park and want guaranteed early rides on headline coasters.

Is Morning Rush Worth It for UK Travellers?

If you’re travelling from the UK, the answer depends on your priorities.

It May Be Worth It If You:

  • Only have one day at Cedar Point
  • Want shorter waits on major coasters
  • Are visiting during peak summer crowds
  • Prefer paying extra to maximise ride count
  • Want guaranteed early access to Siren’s Curse or Millennium Force

It May Not Be Worth It If You:

  • Already plan to buy Fast Lane
  • Have multiple days at the park
  • Prefer relaxed mornings
  • Want behind-the-scenes experiences rather than ride time

For overseas visitors spending thousands on flights, hotels, and park tickets, an additional $95 can sometimes feel more reasonable when it helps avoid losing hours in queues.

Featured Coasters to Watch

Millennium Force

Often considered one of the world’s greatest steel coasters, Millennium Force remains Cedar Point’s signature ride more than two decades after opening.

The 310-foot giga coaster is famous for:

  • Its incredible speed
  • Massive first drop
  • Smooth ride experience
  • Stunning views over Lake Erie

Siren’s Curse

The newest headline attraction at Cedar Point is Siren’s Curse — North America’s tallest, fastest, and longest tilt coaster.

Because it’s still new for many visitors in 2026, expect demand to remain extremely high throughout the season.

Morning Rush could become one of the easiest ways to experience it with minimal waiting.

Morning Rush probably won’t replace the atmosphere and exclusivity that older enthusiast events once offered. However, for guests who simply want more rides with fewer waits, it could still become one of the best add-ons available at Cedar Point.

For UK visitors making the long journey to Ohio, the biggest question is simple:

Would you rather spend extra money — or extra time standing in queues?

Depending on your trip style, Morning Rush could be the perfect answer.
