Lightwater Valley is getting ready for Halloween 2026 with the return of Frightwater Valley, and this year’s event will have a movie theme.
Frightwater Valley Presents: Movie Mayhem will take place on selected dates throughout October, bringing Halloween entertainment, characters, scares and activities to the North Yorkshire theme park.
The event will run from 10:30am until 5pm on the following dates:
- Saturday 10th October 2026
- Saturday 17th October 2026
- 24th–31st October 2026
The park is promising a day where movie characters have escaped from the big screen and taken over the Valley, with activities aimed at families as well as visitors looking for something a little scarier.
What’s Happening at Frightwater Valley?
There will be a number of Halloween attractions and entertainment options throughout the event.
Mini Boo Maze
Younger visitors can head into the Mini Boo Maze, a creepy walk-through experience designed specifically for younger children, with surprises and gentle scares.
Icon Avenue
Icon Avenue will bring a movie-inspired theme to the park, with visitors able to meet movie-inspired characters, take photographs and enjoy some red-carpet-style Halloween fun.
Ghostly Soft Play
Lightwater Valley’s soft play will also receive a spooky makeover, giving younger visitors the opportunity to climb, crawl, slide and play in a ghostly setting.
Trick or Treat Trail
The popular Trick or Treat Trail will return for another year.
Visitors can make their way around 10 trick-or-treat stations, collecting a treat at each stop. The trail can be purchased online or picked up from the Trick or Treat Boo-tique when arriving at the park.
Dead Pirate Show
Over at Skeleton Cove, visitors can watch the Dead Pirate Show, featuring pirate antics, laughs and Halloween entertainment.
Trick or Treat Doors
The Trick or Treat Doors will also return, giving visitors the chance to knock and discover whether they’re going to receive a trick or a treat.
Live Scare Maze
For those looking for something more frightening, the Live Scare Maze promises live scares around every corner.
Lightwater Valley describes the experience as putting visitors inside the horror movie rather than simply watching one, making this attraction aimed at those looking for bigger scares.
End Credits Dance Party
The Halloween celebrations will finish with an End Credits Dance Party, where movie characters will take to the dance floor alongside their iconic theme tunes.
Early Bird Tickets Available
Lightwater Valley is currently advertising First Release tickets for £15 per person using the code FRIGHT15.
The offer is available until 15th September 2026, subject to the park’s terms and availability.
Standard park tickets for September and October are currently listed from £22 online, although prices and availability can vary depending on the date.
With Frightwater Valley combining family-friendly Halloween activities, live entertainment, trick-or-treating and a dedicated scare maze, Movie Mayhem looks set to offer a Halloween day out with something for different age groups.
