Universal has revealed the first group of companies appointed to support the development of the Universal United Kingdom Resort, providing a major update on the progress of the highly anticipated new theme park resort in Bedford.
The update, issued in September 2026, confirms that enabling works are already underway, with opportunities for businesses across the region and the UK expected to continue growing as the project progresses.

Enabling works are already underway
Universal says that enabling works are underway at the future resort site, with opportunities for regional and UK businesses expected to increase as development continues.
According to Universal, the resort is expected to have a significant economic impact on Bedford and the wider UK economy, with the company forecasting £50 billion of economic benefit.
The project is also expected to generate around 20,000 jobs during construction, followed by a further 8,000 direct jobs once the resort is operational.
