Network Rail has announced it is leading the development of the new four-platform station at Wixams, which will improve transport links for residents while supporting access to the future Universal United Kingdom Resort.
The project forms part of wider infrastructure improvements linked to the Universal UK development and is expected to play a key role in encouraging sustainable travel while supporting economic growth.
Network Rail says the station will ensure both local residents and future resort visitors can benefit from improved rail connectivity, helping unlock new opportunities for the area and supporting one of the UK’s most ambitious tourism projects.
