Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager Lets You Run Your Own Haunted Dark Ride
Theme park fans who love dark rides and Halloween attractions have a new game to keep an eye on. Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager is an upcoming spooky management simulator that puts players in control of their very own haunted attraction.
Developed by Japhet Interactive and published by Japhet Interactive and Level Up Gaming Publishing, the game is planned for release in Q1 2027 on Steam.
Run Your Own Haunted Attraction
In Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager, players take charge of a haunted dark ride from a control room, overseeing everything from loading guests and operating ride vehicles to triggering scares and managing queues.
But running a successful attraction involves more than frightening visitors. Players must keep the operation running smoothly, manage power capacity and make sure the ride can handle growing crowds.
Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager started with my fascination with Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris.

Ever since my first ride, I’ve wondered what happens on the other side.
I’m a huge Disney parks fan, and growing up in the Netherlands, the Efteling has always been part of my life as well.
Build Bigger Scares
Customisation is a key part of the experience. Players can place props, lighting and animatronics throughout their attraction to improve its Scare Score and create a more immersive experience.
The better the attraction performs, the more money players can earn from guests. That money can then be reinvested into improvements, while Prestige can be used to rebuild the rundown mansion and unlock upgrades.
Players can also upgrade ride vehicles, improve queues and pre-shows, and automate tasks such as loading, doors and dispatches.

Can You Survive Halloween?
As players progress through the game, each shift introduces different challenges, events and operational pressures. Halloween is set to be a particularly demanding test, with larger crowds and increased pressure on the attraction’s systems.
The challenge is to balance guest flow, ride efficiency and frightening experiences without allowing the operation to fall apart.
When Does Scream Operator: Haunted House Manager Release?
The free demo is out now on Steam: four shifts, about 30 to 45 minutes, ending on Halloween night. It’s also part of Steam Next Fest from 19 to 26 October. The full game is coming in early 2027.
For theme park enthusiasts who have ever wondered what it takes to operate a haunted dark ride behind the scenes, this upcoming simulator could offer an intriguing look at the management challenges behind the scares.
