Changing Places Facility to open at Camel Creek

Camel Creek Theme Park

Aiming to improve accessibility for all, a new accessible changing room and toilet will soon open at Camel Creek Family Adventure Park in Wadebridge.

The new Changing Places toilet is being expertly installed, by Closomat, Britain’s leading disabled toileting solutions company and will be ready for customers to use when the park officially reopens later this March.

Exceeding British standards, the new facility will include a wash and dry toilet, for those who may lack the ability to wipe themselves, a height-adjustable wash basin, ceiling-tracking hoist, adult-sized, height-adjustable changing bench, peninsular WC with space for carers either side with a privacy screen and large sanitary disposal.

Graham Hayes, General Manager of Camel Creek commented:

“Camel Creek’s aim is to improve park accessibility by providing appropriate and comfortable facilities for everyone.  Installing the Changing Places toilet is a key element of the park upgrade we’ve invested in this winter.”

There are hundreds of thousands of people in the UK who are unable to use standard accessible toilets due to profound and multiple learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities. Changing Places toilets are designed specifically with vital equipment and to include extra space (minimum of 12m2) to accommodate users and up to two carers comfortably, also any mobility/medical aids.
