Drayton Manor Confirms Air Race Is Closed for the Season

Visitors planning a trip to Drayton Manor Resort should be aware of two attractions currently unavailable, including one permanent closure.

The park’s official ride availability page currently lists Air Race as “Closed for Season”, meaning the popular thrill ride is not expected to reopen during the 2026 season.

Air Race Closed for the 2026 Season

Located in Adventure Cove, Air Race is a Zamperla Air Race attraction which opened at Drayton Manor in 2014. The ride sees guests climb aboard aircraft before being taken through a series of spins, tilts and inversions, with riders experiencing forces of almost 4G.

The ride has remained unavailable during the 2026 season, but Drayton Manor has now confirmed that it is closed for the season.

This means guests visiting Drayton Manor for the remainder of the 2026 season should not expect Air Race to be operating.

Spencer’s Outdoor Play Area Permanently Closed

Drayton Manor has also confirmed that Spencers Outdoor Play Area is permanently closed. The attraction has been removed from the park’s current line-up and is no longer available to visitors.

The outdoor play area was originally introduced as part of Thomas Land and had provided a play space for younger visitors.

At present, Drayton Manor has not announced what will replace the former play area, meaning its future use remains unknown.

What Is Still Open?

Despite the two closures, the majority of Drayton Manor’s rides and attractions are currently scheduled to operate.

The park’s official availability page lists attractions including The Wave, Stormforce 10, Maelstrom, Gold Rush, Accelerator, Polperro Express, The Haunting, Vikings attractions and the majority of Thomas Land as open.

Drayton Manor also warns that ride availability can change because of weather, operational requirements and unforeseen issues, so visitors are advised to check the official availability information before travelling.
