Energylandia Announces Rokan, Europe’s Tallest and Longest Wing Coaster for 2027

Energylandia in Poland has unveiled plans for Rokan, a record-breaking new roller coaster set to become the tallest and longest wing coaster in Europe. Manufactured by renowned coaster builder Bolliger & Mabillard (B&M), the attraction will headline a brand-new themed area called Volana.

Expected to open in 2027, Rokan will become Energylandia’s 20th roller coaster, adding another major attraction to one of Europe’s biggest theme parks. The park has confirmed the ride’s key specifications but says the exact opening date will be revealed at a later time. Source: Energylandia

Rokan Will Reach 62 Metres Tall

Rokan is set to make an immediate impression with its impressive size and speed. Standing 62 metres (203.4 feet) tall, the new attraction will feature 1,215 metres (3,986 feet) of track and reach a top speed of 115 km/h (71.5 mph).

The ride experience is expected to last 141 seconds, giving guests more than two minutes of high-speed thrills as they soar around the track.

According to Energylandia, Rokan will claim the European records for both the tallest and longest wing coaster. It will also become the first roller coaster of its type in Poland.

What Is a Wing Coaster?

For visitors unfamiliar with the ride type, a wing coaster places passengers in seats on either side of the track rather than directly above it.

This arrangement creates the sensation of flying, with riders’ legs dangling freely and open space above and below them. Wing coasters are known for their dramatic visual presentation and the distinctive feeling of exposure they provide.

In the UK, Thorpe Park’s The Swarm is a well-known example of the ride type. However, Rokan is planned to be considerably taller and longer, giving European coaster enthusiasts a new record-breaking attraction to look forward to.

With B&M responsible for the design and construction, expectations will be high. The manufacturer is known internationally for its large-scale roller coasters, making it a fitting choice for a project of this size.

New Volana Themed Area to Open Alongside Rokan

Rokan will not be arriving as a standalone attraction. It will form the centrepiece of Volana, a new themed area at Energylandia inspired by a mythical winged guardian and a valley of ancient monoliths.

The park’s announcement describes a legend involving a warrior, a village beneath the mountains and a winged guardian that awakens from centuries of slumber. Rokan brings that story to life as a steel roller coaster, with the ride and surrounding area designed to work together.

Energylandia has also released project visualisations and an announcement film offering an early look at the attraction’s theme.

The new Volana area is scheduled to open alongside Rokan, although the park has not yet confirmed the exact opening date. Further information about the area and its attractions is expected to be revealed in due course.

Visitors can find the latest official information on the Energylandia Rokan announcement page.

Three Trains Planned for the New Coaster

Rokan is expected to operate with three trains, each featuring eight rows and seating 32 riders.

The 140 cm minimum height requirement means the attraction will be aimed primarily at guests looking for a more intense roller coaster experience.

Its combination of height, speed, track length and wing coaster seating should make it a significant addition to Energylandia’s existing line-up.

Once open, Rokan will become the park’s 20th roller coaster, further expanding its appeal to enthusiasts who travel to Poland specifically to experience its rides.

How Does Rokan Compare With Other European Wing Coasters?

Rokan’s proposed dimensions put it in a different league from several established wing coasters across Europe.

Thorpe Park’s The Swarm in the UK, Fēnix at Toverland in the Netherlands and Flug der Dämonen at Heide Park Resort in Germany are all examples of the ride type. Rokan is planned to surpass these attractions in both height and track length.

Its 62-metre height and 1,215-metre track will make it a particularly notable addition to the European coaster landscape if the announced specifications are delivered.

For UK enthusiasts, the project could also provide another reason to consider a theme park trip abroad, particularly for those who enjoy experiencing major attractions that are not available at home.

When Will Rokan Open?

Rokan is expected to open in 2027, with the new Volana themed area launching at the same time. However, Energylandia has not yet published a confirmed opening date and says it will announce the date soon.

The park is inviting visitors to register their interest through its official announcement page to receive updates about the opening and first-ride news.

With a 62-metre height, a top speed of 115 km/h and more than 1.2 kilometres of track, Rokan is shaping up to be one of the most significant upcoming roller coaster projects in Europe.

If the project delivers on its plans, Energylandia could soon be home to a new record-holder that attracts coaster fans from across Europe and beyond.
