Chessington World of Adventures’ iconic Vampire roller coaster has officially reopened, bringing welcome news for thrill seekers visiting the Surrey theme park.
After several weeks of planned maintenance, guests can once again board one of the UK’s most unique roller coasters as Vampire takes to the skies through the woodland surrounding the park.
A Chessington Favourite
Since opening in 1990, Vampire has become one of the resort’s most recognisable attractions. Unlike a traditional roller coaster, riders sit in suspended trains that swing freely beneath the track, creating the sensation of flying through the trees.
Originally manufactured by Arrow Dynamics before receiving new trains from Vekoma in 2002, the attraction remains one of the standout rides in the UK and continues to attract fans from across the country.
Perfect Timing for Summer Visitors
The reopening couldn’t have come at a better time, with thousands of guests expected to visit Chessington throughout August. Vampire is often one of the park’s busiest attractions and its return means visitors now have another major thrill ride to enjoy alongside Mandrill Mayhem, Dragon’s Fury and Croc Drop.
Guests planning a visit should still check the official ride availability page on the day of their trip, as attractions can occasionally close temporarily due to weather, maintenance or operational requirements.
