Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park has confirmed the arrival of a brand-new roller coaster for the 2026 season, with the Spinning Racer set to open when the park reopens on 28 March.

The attraction is being promoted as a major addition to the North Yorkshire park’s ride line-up, signalling what operators describe as “a brand-new era of excitement” for visitors.

A new coaster for a new chapter

Spinning Racer appears prominently on the park’s official rides listing as a new-for-2026 attraction, accompanied by a minimum rider height of 1.20 m.

The roller coaster is expected to deliver a dynamic experience thanks to spinning ride vehicles, a format designed to create a different ride each time as cars rotate freely during the layout.

Industry databases indicate the attraction is a Maurer Rides spinning coaster, featuring a track approximately 1,378 ft long, reaching 50 ft in height, and capable of speeds around 37 mph.

Boosting thrills after major park changes

The addition comes during a period of transformation for Lightwater Valley. In recent years, the park shifted towards a family-focused offering, removing several larger thrill rides as part of its repositioning strategy.

However, the arrival of Spinning Racer suggests a gradual reintroduction of more thrilling attractions, potentially broadening the park’s appeal while still maintaining its core family audience.
