One of North Wales’ best-known family attractions has officially changed hands, with GreenWood Family Park entering a new chapter under new ownership after being placed on the market earlier this year.

Located near Y Felinheli on the edge of Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park, the award-winning attraction has become a favourite destination for families thanks to its mix of eco-friendly rides, woodland adventures and outdoor play.

New Owners Take Over GreenWood Family Park

The attraction, previously owned by Continuum Attractions, was put up for sale in April with an asking price of £1.25 million. The sale has now been completed, with the park being acquired by a new ownership group that says it plans to build on GreenWood’s strong reputation while preserving everything visitors already love about the park.

The new owners have expressed their commitment to continuing GreenWood’s family-focused approach while exploring opportunities for future investment and growth. Exact details of any new attractions or developments have not yet been announced.

A Unique Family Attraction

Originally opened in 1993, GreenWood has earned national recognition for combining family entertainment with sustainability.

The park is home to several distinctive attractions, including:

  • The Green Dragon, the world’s first people-powered roller coaster.
  • Solar Splash, one of the UK’s first solar-powered water rides.
  • Large adventure play areas.
  • Woodland walks and interactive nature experiences.
  • Indoor and outdoor family attractions suitable for younger children.

Its environmentally friendly approach has helped the attraction become one of North Wales’ most respected family destinations.

Looking Ahead

While no major expansion plans have yet been revealed, the change in ownership represents an exciting opportunity for GreenWood Family Park.

With a strong reputation, an established visitor base and a unique focus on sustainability, many families will be hoping the new owners continue investing in one of Wales’ most distinctive attractions.

More details about the park’s future direction are expected to emerge in the coming months.
