Bosses at Clacton Pier are drawing up plans for one of its busiest periods of the year.

With its four-day bank holiday, Easter Eggstravaganza consistently draws large groups of visitors and locals alike.

It will mark the beginning of 17 days straight that will see rides open and other events planned to offer plenty of family enjoyment.

The cost of entry to Discovery Bay Soft Play includes the appearance of a gigantic Easter bunny in the newly constructed Ocean Theatre space.

The first free fireworks show of the year takes place on Sunday 31st March, and the pier will also hold its largest-ever free egg search every day throughout the school holidays.

Director Billy Ball said: “It is the first big weekend of 2024 and is usually the second busiest behind August Bank Holiday.

With four days – and hopefully some decent weather – Easter weekend is a bumper one for us and we don’t expect this year to be any different,” he added. “More details about the entertainment will be revealed nearer the time.”

The pier will commemorate Whitsun as the first anniversary of the launch of Jurassic Pier, its newest feature.

Three life-size dinosaurs and young dinosaurs will be brought in by the attraction in collaboration with The Experiences Group over half-term, from May 25th to June 2nd. The dinosaurs will make daily appearances on the property.

Similar experiences have been provided by the award-winning organisation to Pleasure Wood Hills Family Theme Park, West Midland Safari and Leisure Park, and Drayton Manor Resort.

In the future, Oktoberfest will take place over three weekends: September 20th–22nd, October 4th–6th, and October 27th–29th. This includes Friday nights for the first time.

The well-known Ein Kleine Oompah Band debuted in 2023 and has since.

The attraction is having a half-price Big Day Out Band from Saturday, February 17th through February 25th, for £12.50. This weekend marks the start of February Frenzy.

According to Mr. Ball, there is a lot of interest in the pier because of its expanding events calendar.

He said, “We’re determined to make 2024 the biggest and best year yet, and we’ll be revealing details and dates as soon as they’re available so people can mark those dates in their calendars.”
