What’s Happening at UK Theme Parks This Week (Week of 10 August 2026)

The summer holidays are in full swing, and there is plenty happening at UK theme parks this week. From Minecraft and LEGO Festival experiences to extended evening hours and late-night coaster riding, here’s what theme park fans can look forward to.

Minecraft: Meet the Mobs Continues at Alton Towers

Minecraft fans can continue to enjoy Minecraft: Meet the Mobs at Alton Towers this week.

The experience runs until 28 August 2026, giving visitors throughout the summer holidays the chance to step into the world of Minecraft and meet some of its iconic mobs.

The event is included with theme park admission, making it an exciting addition to a day at the resort.

LEGO Festival Continues at LEGOLAND Windsor

The LEGO Festival continues at LEGOLAND Windsor throughout the summer holidays.

Running until 31 August 2026, the festival features a variety of themed zones packed with activities, entertainment and LEGO experiences.

This year’s festival includes a brand-new LEGO Pokémon Play Zone, where guests can take part in interactive LEGO Pokémon activities and meet a LEGO Pikachu.

There’s also a new F1 Thrill Zone, featuring LEGO Formula 1-themed activities, a pit stop challenge, live entertainment and opportunities to design and test your own LEGO F1 car.

The LEGO Music, Creative and Chill Out Zones also continue, giving families plenty to discover alongside the park’s rides and attractions.

Thorpe Park Lates Return This Week

Thorpe Park is extending its opening hours this week with Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds.

The park will stay open until 9pm on:

  • Friday 14 August
  • Saturday 15 August

Guests can enjoy extra ride time into the evening alongside a summer atmosphere and live DJ entertainment.

For thrill-seekers, it means more time to experience some of Thorpe Park’s biggest attractions after the sun begins to set.

Twilight Thrills Returns to Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Blackpool Pleasure Beach is preparing for another evening of adrenaline with Twilight Thrills on:

  • Saturday 15 August 2026

The park will be open from 10am until 9pm, giving visitors 11 hours of non-stop fun.

Twilight Thrills allows guests to experience the park’s major rides as daylight fades and the evening atmosphere takes over.

The event includes late-night riding, live DJ entertainment and additional entertainment throughout the park.

For coaster fans, it’s a great opportunity to experience attractions such as ICON and The Big One in a completely different atmosphere.
