Platinum Pass Fastrack Perk Updated at Merlin Theme Parks from 14 March

Guests holding a Platinum Pass for Merlin Attractions will soon find it even easier to use one of their most popular perks. From 14 March, the process for redeeming the free one-shot Fastrack included with the pass is being simplified across participating resort theme parks.

The change removes the need for physical vouchers, allowing passholders to redeem their Fastrack directly at the ride entrance using their pass barcode.

The update applies to Merlin’s UK resort theme parks, including Alton Towers Resort, Thorpe Park Resort, and Chessington World of Adventures Resort.

How the New Fastrack System Works

Under the new system, Platinum Passholders no longer need to collect or pre-book Fastrack vouchers. Instead, everything can be handled directly at the ride.

Here’s the new process:

Head to the Fastrack entrance of the ride you want to use.
Present your valid Platinum Pass barcode to the ride team member.
The barcode will be scanned on the spot, allowing you to ride via the Fastrack queue.

Once scanned, the one-shot Fastrack is redeemed for that day, and you can enjoy a shorter wait without needing any additional steps.

The update aims to make the perk faster, simpler, and more convenient, particularly on busy days when collecting vouchers could add unnecessary time.

Red Ride Access Pass Information

Guests using the Red Ride Access Pass will still be able to bring a companion when redeeming their Fastrack.

If you have a carer ticket or pass, the process works as follows:

• Present your Platinum Pass barcode for scanning.
• Show your carer ticket or pass to the ride operator.
• One companion may join you through the Fastrack entrance.

This ensures accessibility guests can continue to use the benefit alongside their required support companion.

A Small Change That Should Save Time

While the update may seem small, it removes one of the more awkward parts of the Platinum Pass perk system. By eliminating vouchers, the process becomes much closer to how Fastrack works in many international parks, where benefits are redeemed digitally.

For passholders visiting parks such as Alton Towers Resort or Thorpe Park Resort, this means less time dealing with admin and more time riding.

The updated system comes into effect from 14 March, so Platinum Passholders visiting from that date onward can take advantage of the streamlined process.
