Construction is well underway on The Launch Pad, a brand-new area coming to Thorpe Park for the 2026 season. Replacing much of the long-running Amity Beach water area, this project marks a noticeable shift in the park’s focus toward guest comfort and year-round usability.

What’s happening on site
Since the start of the 2026 closed season, the former beach area has seen significant transformation. Heavy machinery has moved in, with large sections of the beach filled in and cleared to make way for the new development. Early groundwork suggests the layout of a more structured plaza-style space is already taking shape.
Construction firm involvement and visible site activity confirm that Project Pivot—the wider redevelopment of this area—is now firmly in progress, with work including groundwork preparation and infrastructure changes.
What The Launch Pad will be
The new area is being designed as a “recharge zone” rather than a traditional ride or attraction. სტუმ Visitors can expect:
- Seating areas and shaded spaces
- Food and drink kiosks
- A more open, social environment
- Potential event space with staging elements
The goal is to give guests a place to rest, refuel, and socialise between rides, reflecting how the park is evolving beyond just thrill attractions.

Opening timeline
While an exact opening date hasn’t been confirmed, construction progress suggests the area could debut later in the 2026 season, possibly around early summer if work continues at its current pace.
Although The Launch Pad isn’t a headline ride, it represents an important investment in the overall guest experience at Thorpe Park. With visible construction progress already reshaping the old Amity Beach area, this new space is quickly becoming one of the park’s most interesting developments to watch in 2026.
