Fun Spot America Confirms Atlanta Theme Park Will Permanently Close in August 2026

Fun Spot America has announced that its Atlanta theme park will permanently close later this summer, bringing an end to nearly a decade of operation under the Fun Spot brand.

The Fayetteville, Georgia attraction will welcome guests for the final time on 2 August 2026, with the company confirming that the decision follows a strategic review of its business operations.

End of an Era for Fun Spot Atlanta

Originally operating as Dixieland Fun Park before being acquired by Fun Spot America in 2017, the park became known among enthusiasts for combining family attractions with major thrill rides.

Over the years, Fun Spot invested heavily in the property, introducing new attractions and expanding its ride collection. Its biggest addition came in 2023 with ArieForce One, a Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC) roller coaster that quickly gained an international reputation as one of the world’s best steel coasters.

Despite these investments, Fun Spot America has now confirmed that the park’s final operating day will be Sunday, 2 August 2026.

What Happens Next?

At the time of writing, Fun Spot America has not revealed detailed plans for the future of the site or confirmed what will happen to the rides and attractions once the park closes.

One of the biggest questions surrounds ArieForce One, which has become a bucket-list coaster for enthusiasts around the world. The company has yet to announce whether the coaster will be relocated, sold to another operator, or remain on-site.

More information is expected in the coming weeks as closure plans progress.

A Park That Left Its Mark

Although smaller than many regional amusement parks, Fun Spot Atlanta carved out a loyal following thanks to its relaxed atmosphere, affordable admission model, and unique attraction lineup.

In recent years, the park added family rides, midway improvements, and new food offerings while continuing to market itself as a destination for both local families and coaster enthusiasts. However, industry observers have noted that smaller regional parks have faced increasing financial pressures in recent years.

Fans React to the News

The announcement has sparked disappointment across the theme park community, particularly among roller coaster enthusiasts who regard ArieForce One as one of North America’s premier thrill rides.

Many fans have already begun making plans to visit before the park closes, while speculation continues online regarding the future of the coaster collection and whether any attractions may find new homes elsewhere.

Fun Spot’s Remaining Parks Continue Operating

The closure affects only the Atlanta location.

Fun Spot America has confirmed that its parks in Orlando and Kissimmee, Florida, will continue operating as normal, with both locations remaining open year-round and continuing to invest in new attractions and guest experiences.

The closure of Fun Spot America Atlanta marks the end of another regional amusement park and leaves many questions unanswered, particularly about the future of ArieForce One.

For coaster fans, the countdown has officially begun. Those hoping to experience one of America’s highest-rated roller coasters have just a few weeks remaining before the gates close for the final time on 2 August 2026.
