Alton Towers Resort has revealed the brand-new theme for its much-anticipated 2026 Fireworks Spectacular, with Across the Altonverse set to bring the theme park season to a spectacular close this November.

Taking place from 6–8 November 2026, the annual event will feature a new storyline inspired by the resort’s much-loved themed lands and attractions, combining dazzling fireworks, live performers, music and special effects.

This year’s spectacular will take guests on an extraordinary journey through the different worlds of Alton Towers, revisiting some of the most memorable stories and events connected to its famous rides.

What is Across the Altonverse?

Across the Altonverse follows a group of explorers from the Alton Society of Invention and Exploration as they attempt to travel between the different realms of Alton Towers Resort.

Using a steam-powered, clockwork teleportation machine, the explorers set out on a mission to visit every realm in record time.

Their adventure will bring the fictional histories of six themed areas to life, with each featuring its own soundtrack, visual effects and spectacular moments in the night sky.

The six realms featured in this year’s show are:

  • Forbidden Valley: The day Nemesis broke through the Earth.
  • Katanga Canyon: A runaway mine train threatens to run wild.
  • Dark Forest: The stormy night the Oak was chained.
  • X-Sector: The Ministry of Joy takes control.
  • Gloomy Wood: A New Year’s Eve curse changes the story of Alton Manor.
  • Mutiny Bay: A fiery ritual dedicated to the spirit of Wicker Man.

The new production promises to give fans another opportunity to experience the stories behind some of the resort’s best-known attractions in a completely different way.

Live performers, music and a new centrepiece

Live actors will return for the 2026 spectacular, with four central explorer characters helping to bring the story to life.

Guests arriving early will also be able to enjoy pre-show storytelling with the explorers before the main event begins.

A brand-new centrepiece called The Kronos will feature prominently in the production. The installation is set to shimmer and pulse with light as the countdown to the spectacular finale approaches.

Music will also play a major role, with each themed realm featuring its own distinctive soundtrack. The resort says the musical styles will range from Britpop and metal to funk, folk and epic orchestral scores.

The show will also include an emotional tribute to the memories and affection guests share for Alton Towers Resort, before building towards a dramatic finale featuring In the Hall of the Mountain King.

Alton Towers Resort’s Fireworks Spectacular will take place across three dates in November.
