Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS Returns to Landmark Forest Adventure Park for Winter 2026

Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Scotland is preparing to transform its ancient pinewood forest into a spectacular illuminated wonderland as Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS returns for the winter 2026/27 season.

Beginning on Saturday 21 November 2026, the popular after-dark experience will invite visitors to explore a magical woodland filled with thousands of twinkling lights, colourful lasers, glowing tunnels and atmospheric sound effects.

Taking place at Landmark Forest Adventure Park in Carrbridge, near Aviemore, the event offers families and visitors of all ages the opportunity to experience the forest in a completely different way.

Explore an Illuminated Ancient Forest

Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS transforms the park’s woodland surroundings into a colourful evening adventure, combining natural scenery with spectacular lighting displays.

Visitors can follow the illuminated woodland trail, discovering glowing trees, atmospheric installations and dazzling visual effects along the way.

One of the highlights is the Red Squirrel Trail, which takes visitors approximately eight metres above the forest floor, offering elevated views across the illuminated woodland.

The experience also features a UV light tunnel, where fluorescent clothing and face paint will glow beneath ultraviolet lighting, creating an opportunity for memorable photographs.

Spectacular Laser Displays and Sound Effects

Alongside the illuminated woodland, visitors can enjoy a forest laser display that brings the surrounding trees to life with colourful beams of light.

The combination of lasers, atmospheric sounds and lighting effects creates an immersive experience as darkness falls.

The event is designed to appeal to visitors of different ages, whether enjoying an evening out with family, friends or loved ones.

Visitors should be aware that sections of the experience feature sound installations, flashing lights and strobe effects, which may not be suitable for everyone.

Toast Marshmallows Beneath the Stars

No winter evening would be complete without something warm to eat or drink.

During Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS, visitors can stop at the park’s food outlets for seasonal refreshments, including hot chocolate, sweet treats and savoury snacks.

Marshmallow roasting pits will also provide an opportunity to gather around the fire and toast marshmallows or s’mores.

Forester’s Café will be serving meals and snacks for those wanting something more substantial before or after exploring the illuminated trail.

Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS 2026/27 Dates and Opening Times

The experience begins on Saturday 21 November 2026, with selected evening openings throughout the winter season.

The event is scheduled to operate on selected weekends, during the Christmas holidays and again for the February 2027 half-term break.

Opening times vary depending on the date, with most November and December sessions beginning at 4pm.

Selected December dates will feature extended opening hours until 7pm, while February half-term sessions are scheduled to run from 6pm until 8pm.

Visitors are encouraged to check the official event calendar before travelling, as the attraction will not operate every day throughout the winter.

Is Ancient Forest Twi-LIGHTS Accessible?

Landmark Forest Adventure Park has confirmed that the main woodland trail is suitable for prams and wheelchairs, allowing a wide range of visitors to enjoy the illuminated experience.

However, some narrower sections may not accommodate larger mobility scooters or double buggies.

Well-behaved dogs are also welcome but must remain on leads throughout the experience.

As the event takes place outdoors during winter, visitors are advised to wear warm clothing and suitable footwear. Extra care should be taken when walking along the boardwalk during icy conditions.
