Thorpe Park: Final Piece of the UK’s Tallest and Fastest Rollercoaster Installed

The last section of track for Hyperia, the UK’s tallest, fastest rollercoaster, has been built at Thorpe Park.

To finish the 995.4-meter trip, the last section of track was lifted into position with the assistance of a 500-ton crane.

The new coaster, which can reach heights of 236 feet and speeds of more than 80 mph, has three inversions: a dive loop, a non-inverted Immelmann and a stall loop, which holds riders upside down for an extended amount of time.

Neil Poulter, Divisional Director at Thorpe Park said:We’re delighted to be launching the UK’s tallest, fastest and most weightless ride here at Thorpe Park in 2024 and bringing guests a brand-new record-breaking attraction which has been years in the making. We are excited for Thrill seekers to be able to experience Hyperia which will be an amazing addition to our other record-breaking rides. Thorpe Park is a must-visit for those looking to embark on an exhilarating adventure with friends and family.”

The ride is due to open this spring
