Thorpe Park Lates starts tonight (14 August), giving visitors the chance to enjoy some of the UK’s biggest thrill rides for longer as the park stays open until 9pm.

The special Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds event begins today, Friday 14 August, with the resort extending its opening hours and bringing live DJs to the brand-new Launch Pad.

If you’re heading to Thorpe Park tonight or planning a visit later this month, here’s everything you need to know.

Thorpe Park Lates starts tonight

Thorpe Park Lates launches on Friday 14 August 2026, with the park remaining open until 9pm.

The event is designed to give guests more time to enjoy the park’s rides and attractions while adding a summer evening atmosphere and live music.

Thorpe Park says guests can enjoy extended ride time, sunset rides and live DJ sets throughout the evening.

The event is also included with standard park entry, meaning visitors don’t need to purchase a separate Lates ticket.

When is Thorpe Park Lates?

There are four Lates dates this summer:

  • Friday 14 August
  • Saturday 15 August
  • Friday 21 August
  • Saturday 22 August

On all four dates, Thorpe Park is scheduled to remain open until 9pm.

Live DJs at the Launch Pad

One of the biggest additions to this year’s Lates event is Summer Sounds, with DJs providing the soundtrack to the evening at the brand-new Launch Pad.

Tonight’s DJ line-up is:

3pm–6pm – GLU SOUND

6pm–9pm – BILLY GONZALEZ

The entertainment is scheduled to continue through until park closing, creating a festival-style atmosphere as guests enjoy the rides.

The DJ line-up changes across the four Lates dates.

Saturday 15 August

  • DJ Misschief – 3pm–6pm
  • Onetrax – 6pm–9pm

Friday 21 August

  • DJ Kate Frost – 3pm–6pm
  • DJ Gav James – 6pm–9pm

Saturday 22 August

  • DJ Richelle – 3pm–6pm
  • DJ Marky G – 6pm–9pm

Thorpe Park notes that entertainment schedules can change, so guests are advised to check the official app for the latest information on the day.

Which rides can you experience during Lates?

The big attraction of Thorpe Park Lates is, of course, the opportunity to enjoy the park’s thrill rides later into the evening.

Thorpe Park is home to more than 25 rides and attractions, including major coasters such as Hyperia, SAW – The Ride, Stealth, Colossus, The Swarm and Nemesis Inferno.

For coaster fans, the later hours could provide a very different experience compared with riding during the middle of the day.

In particular, Thorpe Park is promoting the chance to experience Hyperia at night, making the extended hours particularly appealing to thrill-seekers.

There’s something special about seeing the park transform as daylight fades and the lights come on across the rides.

What time does Thorpe Park close tonight?

On Friday 14 August, Thorpe Park is scheduled to open from 10am until 9pm as part of Lates.

It’s worth remembering that 9pm is the advertised park closing time, so don’t leave your final ride until the last possible moment.

Thorpe Park also advises that only ride queues close at the relevant times, meaning guests can join a queue before it closes and continue riding afterwards.

How much does Thorpe Park Lates cost?

There isn’t a separate Lates admission price. The event is included with standard park entry on the advertised dates.

At the time of writing, Thorpe Park is advertising advance day tickets from £34.13 per person, although ticket prices can vary depending on the date and availability.

Guests should book in advance where possible and check the latest price before travelling.

Can Merlin Annual Passholders attend?

The Summer Sounds entertainment is described by Thorpe Park as being included with standard park entry. Annual Passholders should check their pass validity, any required pre-booking and applicable exclusion dates before travelling.

It’s also worth checking the latest Thorpe Park information before setting off, as event arrangements can change.

Staying overnight?

Thorpe Park is also promoting summer staycations around the Lates dates.

Overnight stays on 14, 15, 21 and 22 August include extended park hours and access to Summer Sounds when visiting on those dates.

Thorpe Park’s overnight packages include two-day theme park entry and breakfast, with additional benefits available for guests staying in the Thorpe Shark Cabins.

Thorpe Park Lates is a welcome addition to the summer calendar, particularly for coaster enthusiasts who enjoy experiencing rides outside the usual daytime atmosphere.

The combination of longer opening hours, sunset rides, live DJs and the chance to experience Hyperia after dark could make these four evenings some of the most enjoyable visits of the summer.

And with the first event taking place tonight, Friday 14 August, guests visiting Thorpe Park today have an extra few hours to make the most of their visit.

If you’re heading to Thorpe Park tonight, we’d recommend saving your favourite rides for later in the day and making the most of the atmosphere around the Launch Pad.

Just remember to check the official Thorpe Park app for live ride availability, queue times and any changes to the entertainment schedule.

Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds runs tonight, 14 August, as well as 15, 21 and 22 August 2026, with the park open until 9pm.
