
The summer holidays are continuing, and UK theme parks have another busy week of events, extended opening hours and family entertainment ahead.
From Minecraft and LEGO Festival experiences to late-night riding and live DJs, here’s what’s happening at some of the UK’s biggest theme parks this week.
Minecraft: Meet the Mobs Continues at Alton Towers
Minecraft: Meet the Mobs continues at Alton Towers this week, giving families and Minecraft fans the chance to enjoy an experience inspired by the hugely popular game.
The event runs from 18 July until 28 August 2026 and is included with park admission.
Visitors can enjoy the Minecraft-themed experience alongside the resort’s rides and attractions throughout the summer holidays.
With the event entering its final weeks, fans wanting to experience Minecraft at Alton Towers have until the end of August to visit.
LEGO Festival Continues at LEGOLAND Windsor
The LEGO Festival continues at LEGOLAND Windsor this week, with the event running until 31 August 2026.
The festival features dedicated zones covering music, creativity and relaxing family activities, alongside live shows, LEGO models and interactive experiences.
There are also two major new experiences for 2026.
The LEGO Pokémon Play Zone gives visitors the opportunity to take part in an interactive LEGO Pokémon Trainer Center experience, build a LEGO Poké Ball and meet LEGO Pikachu.
The F1 Thrill Zone features a LEGO Formula 1 Brick Stop Challenge, a Pit Lane Hype show and the chance to design and test a LEGO F1 car.
The LEGO Festival is included with theme park admission.
Thorpe Park Lates Returns
Thorpe Park is extending its opening hours this week with Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds.
The event takes place on:
- Friday 21 August
- Saturday 22 August
On both dates, the park will remain open until 9pm, giving guests extra time to enjoy the rides and attractions.
Live DJs will also provide a festival-style atmosphere across the park during the evening.
On Friday 21 August, DJ Kate Frost performs from 3pm–6pm, followed by DJ Gav James from 6pm–9pm.
On Saturday 22 August, DJ Richelle performs from 3pm–6pm before DJ Marky G takes over from 6pm–9pm.
The Summer Sounds experience is included with standard park admission on the event dates.
Twilight Thrills at Blackpool Pleasure Beach
Blackpool Pleasure Beach is preparing for another evening of thrills with Twilight Thrills on:
Saturday 22 August 2026
The park will be open from 10am until 9pm, giving guests 11 hours of adrenaline-fuelled fun.
As daylight fades, visitors can continue riding some of the UK’s most famous roller coasters, while live DJs and additional entertainment help create a different atmosphere around the park.
The event gives guests the opportunity to experience attractions including The Big One, ICON and Revolution as the evening sets in.
For theme park fans, it’s another chance to experience Blackpool Pleasure Beach after dark during the summer holidays.
