Toxicator: New for 2025 at Alton Towers
Get ready for an exhilarating new addition to Alton Towers in 2025: Toxicator, a thrilling top spin ride. It will leave you breathless. As the first topspin ride in the UK and one of only two double-sided versions in Europe, Toxicator promises an unforgettable experience for thrill-seekers.
Themed around The Phalanx, a secret organisation tasked with keeping the Nemesis beast under control, Toxicator will be located between Nemesis Reborn and Galactica in the Forbidden Valley area. The ride’s impressive stats speak for themselves: standing at a record-breaking height of 78 feet on a 16-foot elevated platform, Toxicator will be the only topspin ride in the world elevated above ground level.
Prepare to be dazzled by the ride’s visual effects, including green-lit water fountains that shoot up around the attraction, emphasising the toxic theme. The giant tanks on either side of the ride are expected to display toxic contents, adding to the immersive experience. Toxicator’s intense spinning and centrifugal forces will accommodate more than 500 riders per hour, ensuring that plenty of visitors can enjoy this new attraction.

As you board the wing-shaped trains, prepare to soar through the sky at speeds of almost 60 mph (100 km/h). You’ll experience forces of up to 4.5G. The Swarm’s unique design lets you sit on either side of the track, giving you the sensation of flying.
With a minimum height requirement of 140cm and a maximum height limit of 196cm, The Swarm is perfect for thrill-seekers. Non-ambulant riders can enjoy the ride, but there are specific conditions. Riders must have two full legs to ride, and one missing arm or amputation below the elbow is permitted. Prosthetic limbs are not allowed on the ride.
In the event of a lift evacuation, riders must be able to pull themselves up and out of the seat. They must make a 180-degree turn onto the walkway. Wicker Man at Alton Towers
Alton Towers’ Wicker Man is the UK’s first new wooden rollercoaster in over 20 years. It opened in March 2018. This ride combines classic wooden charm with modern special effects. You’ll see mesmerising fire effects and be transported to another world.
As you start, you feel chosen by the mysterious Wicker Man. The coaster hits speeds of up to 43.6 mph. It covers 2,608.3 ft of track, dropping 72.2 ft. The ride lasts 1 minute and 50 seconds, thrilling 952 riders every hour.
The theming is detailed, pulling you into a story from start to finish. Construction began in November 2016, costing £16 million. After a smoke incident in July 2024, it reopened in August after maintenance.
For a special experience, try the Wicker Man track walk package. It costs £65. You get to see the coaster’s wooden details up close with guides. These tours, for up to eight guests, offer a unique look at this iconic ride.
Mandrill Mayhem at Chessington World of Adventures
Get ready for a wild adventure at Chessington World of Adventures in 2025. Mandrill Mayhem, a thrilling new rollercoaster, will take you to the world of Minecraft. This attraction is fun for all ages, with both indoor and outdoor parts that will leave you breathless.
Mandrill Mayhem has a height requirement of 1.2 meters. This means most adventurers can ride it. But, those over 1.95 meters can’t ride because of height limits. Each side of the ride has two rows, holding up to four people.
Mandrill Mayhem isn’t for expectant mothers or those afraid of heights. But Chessington World of Adventures has guides for guests with limb differences. Guests with amputations might need a harness, but not all can ride. Riders must be able to pull themselves up and out of the seat during an evacuation.
Chessington World of Adventures has more than just Mandrill Mayhem. It has over 1,000 animals, more than 40 rides, and themed Resort Hotels. There are family escapes from £80 per person, with kids under 90cms going free. Zootastic Family Adventures start at £14 per person, and an Annual Pass gives unlimited visits.

With a ride duration of over 2 minutes, Gold Rush boasts the longest track length for a family coaster in the UK. The minimum height requirement for riders is just 1 metre. This makes it accessible to younger thrill-seekers.
The coaster features two trains, each with four carriages. This accommodates a total of 24 riders per train.
As you embark on your Gold Rush journey, you’ll be immersed in the Wild West theme. The launch section is inside a themed barn with smoke and lighting effects. The queue line offers both indoor and outdoor sections, surrounded by extensive landscaping.

Gold Rush is part of a multimillion-pound investment plan for Drayton Manor Resort. The resort spans 180 acres and welcomes approximately 1.5 million visitors each year.
