The summer holidays are in full swing, and there’s plenty happening across UK theme parks this weekend. From Minecraft and LEGO Festival fun to evening entertainment, live DJ sets and a superhero takeover, here’s what’s happening on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 August 2026.

Minecraft: Meet the Mobs at Alton Towers Resort

The Minecraft: Meet the Mobs experience continues at Alton Towers Resort this weekend.

Running from 18 July until 28 August, the interactive experience brings the world of Minecraft to life with mob encounters and hands-on activities for the whole family.

It’s a great opportunity for Minecraft fans to combine the experience with Alton Towers’ collection of rides and attractions during the summer holidays.

LEGO Festival Continues at LEGOLAND Windsor

The LEGO Festival continues at LEGOLAND Windsor Resort, with the event running from 20 July until 31 August 2026.

The festival celebrates creativity and play through interactive experiences, live entertainment, hands-on LEGO building and themed Play Zones.

There are five festival zones to explore, including the Music Zone, Creative Zone and Chill Out Zone, giving families plenty to discover alongside the park’s rides and attractions.

Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds

Thorpe Park is staying open later this weekend as Thorpe Park Lates: Summer Sounds takes place on Saturday 15 August.

The park will remain open until 9pm, giving guests extra time to enjoy the rides and soak up the summer evening atmosphere.

Live DJ sets will bring a festival feel to the park, making it a great option for thrill seekers looking to extend their day into the evening. The event is included with park entry.

Twilight Thrills at Blackpool Pleasure Beach

Over at Blackpool Pleasure Beach, visitors can enjoy Twilight Thrills this weekend.

The event runs throughout the 2026 season, with the park offering the chance to experience its rides and attractions as the day moves into evening. Twilight Thrills runs from 4 April to 26 September.

For coaster fans, it’s a great chance to enjoy the atmosphere of Pleasure Beach as the lights begin to shine across the park.

Superhero Weekend at Adventure Island

It’s time to get super at Adventure Island in Southend this weekend!

Superhero Weekend takes place on 15 and 16 August 2026, with superheroes and villains heading to Adventure Island and Sealife Adventure for a special weekend of family entertainment.

Young visitors can meet their favourite heroic characters while enjoying the park’s rides and attractions.

If your little ones love superheroes, this could be the perfect weekend for a family trip to Southend.
