Pleasure Beach Resort in Blackpool has revealed details on what to expect from the new additions coming to its annual Halloween event – including a scare maze themed after its latest ride.
Journey to Hell, beginning Saturday October 17 is Pleasure Beach’s annual Halloween event, and this year has received its biggest shake up to date, with extended opening hours and brand new mazes.
A trio of new scare mazes are just one of several additions to the annual Halloween event – here’s a closer look at everything new coming to Journey to Hell this October:
Brand new scare mazes & horrifyingly thrilling attractions
Journey to Hell features three newly designed scare mazes to experience, joining its wider line up of horror themed zones, roaming entertainment and rides:
In ‘Eternal Abyss’, brave entrants will navigate their way through the lost temple of ‘Angkor Wat’, located inside Pleasure Beach’s 100 year old network of tunnels that were once used to travel between rides. Inspired by its newest ride, Aviktas, an explorer recruits guests on a mission that uncovers terrifying secrets laying dormant inside the temple’s ancient walls.
‘The Veil’ explores the eerie remnants of a house steeped in grief, hiding a macabre truth. Guests will find a chilling presence still lingers within and face a traumatising realm that connects the living to the dead.
‘Deadline’: Meet the company with a permanent solution to every complaint, where no one ever clocks out. Etch through its nightmarish corridors and discover the psychological horror that festers inside.
For anyone visiting with a ticket including all three mazes, they can also experience ‘ICON: Into the Void’, a thrilling twist on the UK’s only double launch roller-coaster, stripping riders of their senses while wearing blindfolds.
And returning this year is ‘Down the Rabbit Hole’ and ‘The Ghost Train: Vault of Shadows’, a frightening reimagination of the park’s classic rides, Ghost Train and Alice in Wonderland, where twisted characters lurk in the darkness, ready to terrify unsuspected riders.
Longer hours and even more rides
For the first time Journey to Hell has been extended into a day and night event, open for 11 hours of thrills between 10am-9pm.
During the day, visitors can expect the usual adrenaline-packed excitement across the entire park and rides, as well as Halloween themed fun and a new family friendly scare-zone, ‘Witch Way Out’.
From 6pm, the ‘South’ area of the park will close and the ‘North’ area will undergo a terrifying transformation as the main scare zones and mazes awaken.
The park has also extended its line-up of rides available in the evening. Guests can scream into the night riding Aviktas, ICON, Launch Pad, Infusion, Avalanche, Derby Racer and Flying Machines.
More flexible ticket options
Unlike previous years, Journey to Hell will no longer require separate evening admission. Instead, this year, Pleasure Beach is offering varied ticket options, to ensure better flexibility and value. This includes:
- Full Day Journey to Hell tickets (10am-9pm) + all scare mazes: starting from £57
- Nighttime Journey to Hell tickets (from 6pm) + all scare mazes: starting from £50
- Full Day Journey to Hell tickets (10am-9pm), without scare mazes: starting from £33
Entry to each scare maze can also be purchased individually (alongside standard park tickets), and is priced at:
- One scare maze: £15
- Two scare mazes: £25
- Three scare mazes: £30
Journey to Hell will run on select dates between October 17-31. More details on the event and tickets can be found here.
