The area surrounding Baron 1898 at Efteling has been enriched with a new attraction for the youngest thrill-seekers. The drop tower attraction Hooghmoed, sharing the same theme as the popular dive coaster, was officially opened this morning and is now accessible to all Efteling guests who are at least 90 centimetres tall.

Dutch actress and singer Fenna Ramos performed at the opening ceremony and sang ‘No One Can Bring Us Down’ for the first time – a song about courage, bravery and daring to be yourself, specially written for the opening of the new attraction.

By adding Hooghmoed to the area around Baron 1898, we are continuing to bring our vision to life: creating themed worlds where guests can truly step into another reality. Hooghmoed also contributes to a broader range of attractions for younger thrill-seekers in this area of Efteling

The story
Baron 1898 tells the story of Baron Gustave Hooghmoed, who wants to extract as much gold as possible from the mines. To do so, he needs the help of mine workers: the Efteling visitors. In the story of the new attraction Hooghmoed, visitors take on the role of the Baron’s ‘chimney sweeps’.
