The Europa-Park Resort has officially opened its inspiring new ‘Children’s House Little Heroes’, a unique charity initiative designed to help families rebuild their lives after a child has undergone cancer treatment.

The special facility officially welcomed its first families on 6 July 2026, marking a significant milestone for one of Europe’s leading theme park resorts.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Mack family, Swiss music star DJ BoBo, who serves as patron of the project, and Wolfram Kons, who hosted the event. Guests also included Marion Gentges and Kai-Achim Klare.

A Place to Recover Together

Located within the resort’s new Silver Lake City western-themed area, the Europa-Park Children’s House Little Heroes features five spacious, fully accessible family apartments.

Each apartment can accommodate up to four people, allowing families to enjoy a five-day stay completely free of charge as they transition back to everyday life following a child’s cancer treatment.

The initiative was created in partnership with the Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V., the German Children’s Cancer Foundation, and the Support Association for Children with Cancer Karlsruhe (Stelzenmännchen). It was also the flagship charitable project celebrating Europa-Park’s anniversary year in 2025.

During their stay, families can experience many of the attractions across the resort, including:

  • Europa-Park’s award-winning rides and themed lands
  • The Rulantica water world
  • Excursions to the Taubergießen nature reserve
  • Activities at the Europa-Park TALENT ACADEMY
  • Immersive adventures at YULLBE

Retired Europa-Park employees will volunteer their time to help look after visiting families, creating a welcoming and supportive environment throughout each stay.

DJ BoBo Proud to Support the Project

Long-time Europa-Park friend DJ BoBo said helping families facing difficult circumstances is a cause close to his heart.

Having enjoyed a decades-long friendship with the Mack family, he praised their commitment to social projects alongside the park’s continued success and said he was delighted to support such a meaningful initiative.

Roland Mack: “Joy Can Help the Healing Process”

Europa-Park owner Roland Mack described seeing the first families arrive as emotional proof that the project is already making a difference.

He explained that cancer affects not only the child but also siblings and parents, and hopes the experiences available across Europa-Park, Rulantica and Silver Lake City will help strengthen family bonds and support the healing process through shared moments of happiness.

Long-Term Partnership

Construction of the Children’s House cost more than €3 million, with accommodation costs for future families being supported through donations and the ongoing partnership with the Stiftung RTL – Wir helfen Kindern e.V.

Wolfram Kons praised the collaboration, saying the project will bring joy to families with seriously ill children while creating lasting support through a long-term partnership with Europa-Park.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are currently open for families living in Germany whose child has completed cancer treatment.

Current eligibility includes:

  • Children aged 4 to 16 years
  • Acute treatment must have been completed
  • Treatment must have ended within the previous two years

Europa-Park has confirmed that eligibility will expand to include additional countries later this autumn.

Families can find further information and submit applications through the German Children’s Cancer Foundation application page.
