The 210 foot ride, which will propel passengers 20 storeys into the sky and achieve top speeds of 80 mph, will open on Wednesday May 7th 2025.
After months of hard work we’re thrilled to now be unveiling Launch Pad to the public. Our team has poured so much creativity, passion and expertise into this bold re-imagining, and I can’t wait for guests to experience it in two weeks’ time.
CEO of Pleasure Beach Resort, Amanda Thompson OBE
“From the 7th May, anyone brave enough to take to the skies will have the opportunity to launch 210 feet into the air at maximum power. It’s time to get ready for lift off.
After being re-imaged, Launch Pad now has a brand-new ride system that will transform the ride experience: a 210-foot cylinder. Because of the cylinder’s 105 PSI pressure, 105 pounds of force is applied to every square inch inside the cylinder.
Ride Facts:
- 12 riders, one almighty launch.
- 20-storeys up in seconds.
- Engineered for maximum power.
- Strap in, and prepare to be launched.
The higher the pressure, the greater the build-up of kinetic energy. By increasing the PSI we’ve increased the force, and therefore the acceleration of speed is greater, meaning riders will feel a huge difference and shoot to the sky with more power than ever before.
Karl Murphy, director of engineering
Along with getting a new name, branding, and a space exploration concept, the ride also as a complete cosmetic makeover, going from white to vivid blue and red.
