Six Flags Announces Two New Family Water Slides for 2027 at Knott’s Soak City

Six Flags has unveiled two exciting new family water slide attractions coming to Knott’s Soak City in California for the 2027 season.

Named Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze, the new attractions will replace the current Shore Break slide complex and are designed to offer thrilling shared experiences for families and groups of up to five riders per raft. The announcement was made to celebrate National Waterpark Day and marks another major investment in the Southern California water park.

Coral Craze Brings High-Speed Family Thrills

Coral Craze will become the West Coast’s first triple Family FlyingSAUCER attraction, manufactured by ProSlide.

The ride will send families sweeping through three large, banked FlyingSAUCER elements, creating a sensation similar to carving through high-speed ski turns. Riders can expect fast-paced directional changes and moments of weightlessness as they race around the giant saucer sections before splashing into the runout below.

Kelp Kraze Offers a Unique Rotating Experience

Alongside Coral Craze, guests will also experience Kelp Kraze, which will be North America’s first Family HIVE attraction.

Designed for five-person rafts, the attraction features tight twists, spiralling helix elements and translucent slide sections that offer views across the water park while riders experience the illusion that the slide is rotating around them. When it opens, Kelp Kraze is also expected to be the longest Family HIVE water slide in the United States.

A Major Investment in Family Attractions

Knott’s Berry Farm President Raffi Kaprelyan said the new attractions represent the next generation of family water rides and will give guests new ways to enjoy the park together.

The two attractions continue the growing trend of water parks investing in large-capacity family raft rides that combine thrills with shared experiences, rather than focusing solely on individual body slides.

MonteZOOMa Reopening Also Confirmed

Alongside the announcement, Six Flags also confirmed that MonteZOOMa: The Forbidden Fortress at Knott’s Berry Farm remains on track to reopen later this summer following its lengthy refurbishment.

The iconic launched coaster has undergone an extensive transformation, introducing a brand-new storyline and themed experience while preserving the famous high-speed launch that made the original Montezooma’s Revenge one of the park’s most recognisable attractions.

With Coral Craze and Kelp Kraze set to debut in 2027, Knott’s Soak City is preparing for one of its biggest expansions in recent years. The new slides are expected to become headline attractions for families visiting Southern California, while the reopening of MonteZOOMa later this year adds another exciting milestone for Knott’s Berry Farm fans.
